Chicory root is essentially grown in northern France around the towns of Calais, Dunkirk and Saint-Omer. Established in France in 1858, Leroux has since earned excellent renown and offers a variety of products both delicious and healthy.
The tradition of drinking chicory roots beverages instead of coffee became popular during World War II when coffee became hard to find. Chicory root is a healthy alternative to coffee and has a smooth and pleasant taste.
Chicory can also be used in baking for added flavor.
